Oahu Aloha

We really love the little village here in Lanikai. We wake up from the sound of the wind in the palm trees and the tropic birds. Every morning we take a look at the Kailua bay: either we have beautiful waves for surfing or warm nice wind for windsurfing, or we get our newest toys out, the kitesurfing gear. Sometimes we play in the waves for hours or we go out to the Mokoluas (the twin islands) by kayak.

And in between we enjoy a rest in our lovely home. In between it was really crowded, as this house has been rented to several families at the same time. This is how we met Stephanie with her beautiful French accent and her really nice kids, parents and sister.
Thx Stephanie for baking crepes for the whole house !!

Everyone seems to play outside, and mainly on and in the water. The toy variations seem endless: swimming, bodysurfing, boogieboarding, outrigger canoes (with and without sail), catamaran sailboats, ocean kayaks, windsurfers, the latest craze SUPs (stand-up paddle boards), kitesailing, and of course kitesurfers.

This is why they call it the rainbow state - 6 people outrigger canoes launching for their evening session: dozens of boats go out for practice every evening, on the weekend they have races
